I went on a 6-day ride from Dalat to Hoi An, as a passenger with Phan Hoan. As an older single woman travelling solo, I felt at ease and comfortable with him. He was a considerate and knowledgeable guide, keen to share his culture and knowledge of history and language of Vietnam. Hoan knows a lot of history, not just the recent war history but also into antiquity, including influence of Chinese culture and Confucianism. Hoan is also an excellent and safe rider who handles his bike confidently.
